Lazy Sunday
Yesterday was a very good Sunday for me. In the morning, I woke up slightly late and managed to clean up my toilet before heading to Bangsar to have breakfast with the WS, SY, WL, BY and M at Ms Read's Delicious Cafe at Bangsar Shopping Village. I ordered the Big Breakfast which comes with 2 scrambled organic eggs, a slice of toasted bread, sauteed mushrooms and cherry tomatoes and some streaks of beef bacon. I added in a serve of homemade baked beans and avocadoes as well. The order also comes with coffee or tea and fresh orange juice. The food? Delicious! The eggs were just nicely scrambled, not too dry. The mushrooms were tender and had a nice hint of garlic to it. The little cherry tomatoes were nicely done and I finished it all even when I am not a big fan of tomatoes. The baked beans were interesting and the avocadoes, well, avocadoley yummy. I had abit of BY's French toast with honey as well and it had the fluffiest texture ever! That's how French toast should be!
When breakfast was done and over and everyone was sipping coffee or tea, M and SY decided to get their nails done so they headed up for a session of nail treatment each. Which left me and WL and WS wandering into Toys 'R Us looking at toys. Boy, are they so advanced now. An hour later, much more wandering later, WL had to go to play futsal, leaving me, M, SY and WS to go to SY's place to check out her new rabbits, Moshi and Moro and also to check out her new Canon digital SLR.
M wanted to go get something from Midvalley Mall and we all went in SY's Honda Jazz. Which comes to the second best part of that day. SY was so nice to let me drive in her car! I know why the Jazz is worth so much. The drive is so smooth, and the suspension and handling nice and comfy. The pickup was good too, coming from a 1.5 litre VTEC engine, it makes negotiating the hilly roads of Bangsar easy. The most fun feature of the car is the sequential gears which you can control at a press on the steering wheel. It was fantastic! When up a hill, by switching it down to 2nd gear, you can feel the torque instantaneously. On straights, shifting from 1 to 5 on a straight road gave a very exciting feel when the accelerator is pressed. The engine did not sound loud, but it wasn't completely inaudible, it gave a very gentle purr when the accelerator was pressed hard. Nice, nice! The interior is superb too with mock carbon-fibre dash and finishing to give it a very sporty feel. As it wasn't my car, I didn't push it too hard, maintaining at an average of 60km/h to Midvalley and back.
When I got back to my Kelisa, I understand why now our local car companies still need to catch up in terms of quality. The car interior feels cheap and plasticy and the suspension not as comfortable and the transmission doesn't feel smooth too. These are little complains but the Kelisa still serves its ultimate goal, to get me from point A to point B. Hopefully, driving in a Perodua Myvi will be a better experience over the Kelisa.
To end the day, I had dinner with M's folks at Wong Poh in Sunway Mas. Ate like I never ate before and finished coconut water from one entire coconut. Feeling stuffed, I sent M back before taking the long drive back home dreading the fact that the weekend was slowly ebbing away...
